Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide when creating a volunteer account, editing your profile, applying for online assignments, preparing to visit Zimbabwe, submitting contact forms, or verifying local volunteer IDs. This may include names, contact details, location, skills, availability notes, travel readiness information, emergency contacts, uploaded documents, and application responses.
How we use information
We use personal information to manage volunteer accounts, match volunteers with suitable opportunities or placement pathways, review applications, communicate about assignments, support safeguarding, verify local volunteer IDs, respond to enquiries, and improve the reliability and security of the platform.
Sharing and access
Access is limited to authorised VNZ personnel and approved partners who need information to coordinate assignments, placements, safeguarding, or support. We do not sell volunteer information. Information may be shared where required by law, to protect children or vulnerable people, or to investigate misuse of the platform.
Retention
We keep records only for as long as needed for volunteer coordination, safeguarding, legal, audit, and reporting purposes. When information is no longer needed, it should be archived, anonymised, or deleted where practical.
Your choices
You may ask VNZ to update, correct, or review personal information held about you. Some records may need to be retained where they relate to safeguarding, compliance, completed assignments, or legal obligations.
