Commitment
VNZ Hands supports Viva Network Zimbabwe work with churches, faith-based organisations, and partners serving orphans and vulnerable children. Every volunteer pathway must prioritise the safety, dignity, participation, and wellbeing of children and vulnerable people.
Volunteer expectations
Volunteers must follow VNZ guidance, respect local leadership, maintain appropriate boundaries, protect confidential information, and avoid behaviour that could place children, communities, partners, or the volunteer at risk.
Reporting concerns
Any concern about abuse, exploitation, unsafe behaviour, misconduct, or a breach of safeguarding expectations should be reported promptly through VNZ reporting channels or directly to authorised VNZ leadership.
Online assignments
Online volunteers should communicate through agreed channels, avoid private or unnecessary contact with children, and request guidance when assignment work may involve sensitive stories, images, personal data, or direct child participation.
Visiting volunteers
Visiting volunteers may be asked to complete additional screening, orientation, travel readiness steps, host coordination, and safeguarding preparation before placement is confirmed.
